Terms & Conditions
Last updated June 2026 · Draft pending solicitor review
These terms govern your use of Wylts (“Wylts”, “we”, “us”), a free community discovery platform for the Pewsey Vale, Marlborough and the surrounding villages of Wiltshire. By browsing, creating an account, or submitting any content, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Wylts.
1. What Wylts is
Wylts is a free, personal community project — a directory of local independent businesses, groups and events. It is not a registered company and is provided on a goodwill, “as is” basis. We are a platform that hosts and displays information; we are not the provider of the goods, services or events you find listed here.
2. Listings and information
Many listings are built from publicly available data (including Google Places) so the directory is useful from day one. We take reasonable steps to keep information accurate, but we do not guarantee that any listing, opening time, price, contact detail or event is correct, current or complete. Always confirm directly with the business or organiser before relying on it.
3. Your account and content
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information and not impersonate any person or business.
- When you submit content (a claim, an event, a tip, a listing edit), you confirm you have the right to submit it and that it is lawful, accurate and not misleading.
- You grant Wylts a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and reasonably use the content you submit for the purpose of running and promoting the platform. You keep ownership of your content — we are not claiming ownership of it, and we are not a data broker.
4. Verification of business claims
Where a business claims a listing, we may use reasonable verification steps (such as a text message to the phone number already published on the listing). Verification is a reasonable effort, not a guarantee of identity or ownership. We may suspend or reverse a claim where we believe it is incorrect or disputed, and an administrator may make the final decision.
5. Acceptable use
You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. We may remove content, or suspend or terminate accounts, that breach these terms or that policy, at our discretion.
6. Transactions between you and businesses
Any purchase, booking or arrangement you make is solely between you and the business or organiser. Wylts is not a party to it and is not liable for the goods, services, events or conduct of any listed business or user. Businesses are responsible for their own pricing, fulfilment, cancellations and refunds. Made-to-order items may be non-refundable as allowed by law.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wylts is provided without warranties of any kind, and we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the platform, reliance on any listing, or any dealing with a business or user found through Wylts. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you submit or your misuse of the platform.
8. Changes and termination
We may change, suspend or withdraw Wylts or any feature at any time. We may update these terms; the latest version always applies and is dated above. You may stop using Wylts and delete your account at any time from your settings.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
